Rot Riot was born in a season where rest was no longer optional.
I’m a single mom. And like many women, I learned early how to survive by pushing through prioritizing everyone else,
staying productive, staying strong, staying quiet about how severe the struggle really was.
For a long time, I thought exhaustion was just the price of being capable. But healing has a way of interrupting survival mode.
After experiencing trauma and emotional abuse, my body stopped cooperating with the pace I was forcing it to keep.
Burnout wasn’t just mental, it lived in my nervous system. I was anxious, depleted, and disconnected from myself in ways I didn’t yet have language for.
What I needed wasn’t motivation. It wasn’t discipline. It was safety. Rest became the first place I felt it.
Not rest as a reward, rest as a requirement. Not rest that needed to be earned, rest that needed to be honored.
“Bed rotting” started as survival. It became regulation. Then it became reclamation.
In stillness, I began to understand my body again.
In slowing down, I learned that healing doesn’t happen when you’re constantly overriding your own signals.
In rest, I found clarity, softness, and strength I didn’t know I had lost.
Rot Riot exists because I know I’m not alone.
So many women are healing while holding everything together. So many mothers are regulated last.
So many survivors are praised for resilience but never given permission to rest.
This brand is my way of giving back, by naming what we experience, by normalizing nervous system care
and by creating language that makes rest feel accessible instead of indulgent.
Rot Riot is not about doing nothing. It’s about doing what actually supports healing.
It’s for women learning to listen to their bodies again. For those unlearning guilt. For those choosing regulation over burnout.
This community is an invitation: You don’t have to push through anymore.
You don’t have to justify your rest. You don’t have to heal alone. Rot Riot is where softness meets strength.
Where rest becomes resistance. Where healing is allowed to be slow.
This is my story. If this feels familiar, you belong here.
REST IS THE REBELLION.
